Recently, tourism minister Francisco Javier Garcia revealed that the United States is the main source of tourists for the Dominican Republic. He also indicated that the country was working to forge bonds with the powerful American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) and that optimal conditions need to be created to attract AARP members. This should make Dominican Republic real estate more attractive than ever.
Convenient Policies Will Attract AARP Members to Dominican Republic Real Estate
During a meeting in the Tourism Ministry with United States ambassador Raul Izaguirre and AARP representatives, Garcia said his department will set out to implement all the policies needed to attract AARP members to the country. It is estimated that over 100,000 U.S. citizens are already permanent residents of the Dominican Republic. With these changes, Dominican Republic real estate will become a more attractive option for retired U.S. citizens and that number is likely to rise.
